About The Richard Harris Artwork
This Richard Harris portrait is an original digitally designed artwork by Irish artist Richie Delaney, created by pushing pixels and using vibrant colours to produce a bold and dynamic finish.
Richie's contemporary approach gives the portrait its own distinctive character, using colour and digital composition to create an energetic interpretation of one of Ireland's most recognisable international performers.
Born in Limerick in 1930, Richard Harris became an internationally acclaimed actor whose career spanned film, theatre and music. He was widely recognised for memorable performances in films including This Sporting Life, A Man Called Horse, The Field and Gladiator, as well as for his role as Professor Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Harris was also a successful singer, with his recording of MacArthur Park becoming an international hit. His distinctive personality, powerful performances and varied career made him an enduring figure in Irish and international popular culture.
Rather than creating a traditional painted portrait, Richie uses digital design to reinterpret Richard Harris in a contemporary style. The combination of colour, pixels and composition creates a vibrant piece of Irish digital art that celebrates both the character of Richard Harris and his lasting contribution to film, theatre and music.
The artwork is available as a Richard Harris fine art print in A2 and A3 sizes.
