About The Paddy Moloney Artwork
This Paddy Moloney portrait is an original mixed-media artwork by Irish artist Richie Delaney, created using ink and acrylic on timber cradle.
Richie's contemporary approach to portraiture combines expressive colour, texture and composition to capture the distinctive character and presence of one of Ireland's great traditional musicians.
As the founder of The Chieftains, Paddy Moloney played a defining role in bringing Irish traditional music and culture to audiences around the world. His contribution to Irish music has left an enduring legacy.
Rather than producing a conventional portrait, Richie uses a contemporary mixed-media approach to reinterpret Paddy Moloney, combining ink and acrylic to create an expressive original artwork that celebrates both the musician and his lasting influence on Irish culture.
This is a one-of-a-kind original artwork, created and signed by Richie Delaney.
